We teamed up with data scientists, vets, and pet care pros to create personalized health monitoring products and services to reveal the full story of our pets’ health.
The science behind Whistle
A world of scientific research goes into every smart device.
Whistle’s industry-leading AI is powered by The Pet Insight Project, an award-winning team of vets and data scientists. They’ve studied the health data of 100,000+ dogs, paired with medical records from Banfield Pet Hospitals to find out exactly what different behaviors mean for dogs’ health.
Whistle smart devices collect millions of data points from your dog’s activity and behavior. All this info is then sent to the Whistle app where it gets translated into daily health insights. So you can easily get a clear picture of your pet’s health.
We innovate so you can uncover better ways to care.
Our team continuously improves our AI so you can discover the most precise, personalized ways to care for your pup. You’ll know when they’re doing well and get alerts as soon as a potential health concern arises. And when you’re not sure how to solve a health problem on your own, we’ll connect you with a vet.
Our three smart devices are designed to translate your pet’s behavior into personalized insights, using cutting-edge tech, billions of data points, and a healthy dose of pet parent perspective.

Homebody
Social butterfly
Delicate dog
Lazy pup
Family favorite
Senior
The homebody is going to prefer indoor activities, like playing with toys or snuggling on the couch. And since outdoor exercise isn’t their favorite, bathroom breaks and daily walks are probably their main sources of movement and Vitamin D.
This loving, affectionate dog will likely say “hello” to anyone, dog or human. They get distracted easily, and while they’re loyal to their family, you’ll often find them looking for treats from other dog parents in the park.
Allergies. Upset stomachs. Ear infections. Delicate dogs have a lot going on health-wise. So they need a little extra care from their humans, like trips to the vet, special diets, and lots of love and affection.
Similar to the homebody, the lazy pup is far from your athlete. They enjoy napping on their bed (or the nearest soft surface), and long walks are out of the question. Sure, they could do it, but do they want to? No way. This guy is stubborn, slow-moving, and, at times, aloof.
The family companion is steady, reliable, and everything a good dog is supposed to be. Patience, gentleness, and affection are all up this dog’s alley. Like the social butterfly, the family favorite is happy-go-lucky, but this one’s loyalty never strays.
There’s so much to love about a dog in their golden years. But they might not love exercise as much as they did in their puppy days. They still enjoy their daily walks, but they might move a bit slower now. So, they’ll need plenty of rest, treats, and belly rubs after activity.
Plenty of water and meals twice a day — that’s all the solo dog needs from their owner. Their empty stomach is the pull to come inside, and they’d prefer if you didn’t rub their head all that often, thank you very much.

The homebody is your typical household companion. Exercise might not be their priority, but health is still a top concern. Bathroom breaks and a daily walk are their main sources of Vitamin D and movement.

If there’s an escape route, this dog will find it. They’re intelligent, independent, and always on the move. More often than not, they’re athletic (which aids in digging, jumping, and running) and on the younger side.
Allergies. Upset stomachs. Ear infections. Delicate dogs have a lot going on health-wise. So they need a little extra care from their humans, like trips to the vet, special diets, and lots of love and affection.
The athlete is intelligent and resourceful. This dog is paying attention to your every move. Oh, you’re about to reach into your pocket for a ball? They’re ready to fetch and retrieve. Regular exercise is crucial to maintain this dog’s health and happiness.
Whether you define a puppy by age or by personality, this dog needs exercise, a consistent schedule, and lots of attention. Once your pup is vaccinated, walks are a must—though often chaotic. But location tracking can makes the trek (and general life) a little less stressful.

We can talk science and data all day. But, really, we’re here to give pets a voice, and help enlighten and empower pet parents. So you can uncover new and better ways to care.

Gatsby has been wearing Whistle’s device since he was a tiny pup and never leaves home without it!

Honestly, wanted to wait a while until I wrote a review for this product due to the reviews I read. I honestly love this product. I have 1 and half old GSD and wanted to know if I was giving him too little or too much exercise or if I was giving him too much food or not. This has given me clarity on that.
