Whistle Activity Monitor is Now in Apple Stores
Starting today, you can find Whistle Activity Monitor in Apple stores across the U.S. and Canada as part of the pet tech company's rapid retail expansion this year. In addition to making Whistle more widely available to the nearly 68 percent of U.S. households with a pet (1), Whistle has announced two new tech capabilities to further simplify the important daily responsibilities of pet ownership: a brand new IFTTT (If This Then That) channel and custom in-app medication reminders.
“Whistle is focused on enhancing the bond and experience of owning a pet and our retail strategy is no different. We want to continue to meet pet owners where they already enjoy shopping and discovering new products, whether online, on the go or in their favorite stores,” said Ben Jacobs, Whistle CEO. “With Whistle available in four major retailers across the country, it’s easier than ever before to get a glimpse into your dog’s daily life. Given the enthusiasm we have experienced with our users to date, we’re eager to invite more people to join the Whistle community.”
The Whistle Activity Monitor captures and classifies movement across a range of activities -including resting, walking, playing, running, swimming and general activity. It then wirelessly syncs with an app on your smartphone to give you a visual summary of your dog's day. Launching the Whistle IFTTT Channel will take pet monitoring to the next level by creating customizable and automatic tasks that communicate with other apps on your phone or computer. For example, for every time a photo is posted on social media, a user can create a custom recipe that automatically syncs the photo to Whistle’s timeline. This enables users to organize their data in ways that are specific to their needs without having to take an extra step.
To coincide with its entry into Apple stores, Whistle has officially dropped the price of the Activity Monitor to $99, down from its earlier price of $129. Whistle’s free app can be downloaded for iOS and Android devices from the App Store and Google Play.
